Getting to Know The Girls


Tell us about yourself.

I was born and raised in Key West, Florida, an official “conch”. I love my community and love volunteering, especially in my local church. I really enjoy working with children and getting to know their individual personalities. I love snail mail – sending and receiving. I enjoy interpretive dancing to popular songs in public. I’m abnormally excellent at shuffle board.

What is your favorite part of the wedding?

I love first looks. I love the intimacy they bring for the couple. I love seeing the grooms reaction captured in the photos.

What is your guiltiest pleasure?

I’m a closet bachelor/bachelorette addict. I can’t stop. I can eat mac & cheese by the bucketful. Mob movies are my jam. I could listen to Lionel Richie All Night Long…All Night. I also really enjoy spectating the Nathan’s Annual 4th of July Hot Dog Eating Contest (almost too much.)

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I love to be outside and experiencing the beautiful island I live on, especially with my boyfriend of 4 years, Mike. We love to go for bike rides together. I also love to read and I like making homemade candles and sharing them with friends.

What is your favorite movie?  Favorite book?  All-Time Favorite TV Show?

It’s hard to choosing favorites for me because I just have so much love for so many things… Anything with Leonardo DiCaprio in it… (finally got that oscar he deserves); Toss up between The Help and Redeeming Love, but I also did just read The Girl on the Train and am a big fan; The Office, I also love Friends and Parks and Rec.

What travel destination are you most looking forward to traveling to?

I have a passion for Africa. I had the opportunity to travel to Ethiopia a few years ago with a medical team and absolutely fell in love with the people and culture. I would love to be able to go back to somewhere in Africa. Also, New Zealand. Also, everywhere.

What do you love about your work?

I love the opportunity that we get to make a couples vision a reality. Things can be so stressful leading up to your wedding, especially the day of, and I love the fact that we get to relieve a good amount of that stress for the couple. It’s a comfort for them to know that our sole job is to look out for them and their desires for their day.

What is your most favorite thing you have seen at a wedding?

At my best friend’s wedding, during the ceremony they did a foot washing. It was so beautiful and symbolic, a true picture of giving yourself to another. Probably my most favorite wedding ceremony to date.

Tell us one thing about yourself that not too many people know.

I have an abnormally good remembrance of my childhood. And I have a firm belief that I have the ability to survive a plane crash.
